I just saw a piece on the CNN evening news that was taped in TV. Rudy Guiliani was down there and talking at one of the town squares, (I think it was Lake Sumter Landing) and the clip showed the golf carts, the streets, the square, and just made me want to cry. But I didn't, it just reaffirmed our determination to sell this house and become Villagers. And the sooner the better. Barbara wav wav

Ouma, I saw that you spent some time in Fairfield,CA. I had a client in Fairfield, Pacbell and had an apartment there. I remember a good mexican restaurant in town and jackrabbits as big as kangaroos.

Golfnut, it wasn't on the web it was on the CNN evening news with Wolf Blitzer. CNN runs and reruns their news all the time so it will almost certainly be on again and again. I don't know when it was filmed but Rudy G was down there so maybe you can pinpoint the date better than I can.

jjdees, we were in Fairfield in 1961-1963. We lived on Elwood Street. My second child was born during that time, at Travis AFB. I don't remember jackrabbits but do remember that every time it rained the whole area flooded.

Ouma, I was there mid 90s. Different world. Lots of new homes/condos.

Fairfield now has a population of about 105,000 about the same as adjacent Vacaville.

I was at my niece's wedding and reception at the Travis AFB Officers Club about three weeks ago. Surprised to see civilian guards on the gate - must be easier to get than military.
