Flying garbage trucks
I don't know about all of them, but the Villages garbage truck drivers in Marion County apparently need a lesson in driving safety. Their apparent speed is way beyond what would be considered safe in residential neighborhoods. Lawn refuse pickup day is the worst because they can really get a run between 5 or 6 houses.
The worst part is that it appears that either the drivers don't care or the management doesn't care. We have called and lodged official complaints three times. I know that two of our neighbors have done the same thing, so I assume other have as well. Nothing changes. This morning, the truck was going so fast around the corner by our house that the driver shouted to the guys on the back...."HOLD ON." It will be a sad day when a resident or guest (maybe a grandchild) is injured or killed by a speeding garbage truck. Slow 'em down. |

I'd call the police everytime they did that.

Am I misunderstanding your reply or was it a smart a** statement?

Re: Flying garbage trucks
No, I am serious. What makes you think I as being a smart A**. The reply was pretty straight forward

Re: Flying garbage trucks
I believe our garbage truck driver thinks he is Mario Andriette. The way he sometimes goes around a corner, I am surprised the truck remains upright. They must be paid an incentive on how quickly they can finish their route. The Sheriff's time could be better spent setting a speed traps for Garbage Trucks rather than focusing on Golf Cart Drivers.
