Another bad golf cart accident

As reported on Villages - News a 70 year old was ejected from his cart late last night when he hit a curb. He is in critical condition in Ocala. We have to be careful in our carts.

I hope he makes it. Get seat belts and wear them, in your car and golf cart.

I know Richard and have played golf with him many times. He's a real nice guy and I am saddened to find out about this accident. I don't think alcohol was involved but I could be wrong. In any case I'm hoping for his eventual recovery.

Been here 3 weeks now - bought our golf cart, used, on ToTV Sales section. Been a Lurker here for years, and heard of these 'ejections'. Must say, I just don't feel comfortable in the Cart without being strapped in. I'm a DIY type of guy, so ordered seat belts/bracket late last week - expected del tomorrow. Also have a little pup, Chip. And got him HIS restraint, harness and leash connect - will attach to basket behind the seat, so he's safe too sitting on the seat.

Hope the gentleman recovers...

Good Vision

Both my wife and I have very good vision however it is a challenge to drive in the evening with lights on on coming carts and the curbs with no highlighters to identify around the islands, etc.etc. I don't think there is a question the curbs need better identifications and should have painting that show where they are..!!

Praying for Richard and all who love him. Drive carefully everyone. I am not as confidant driving after dark as I was once.

Golf carts are not as protective of bodies as are cars.

Coming home from dinner last night we came upon the accident after 9:00. Many fellow Villagers stopped by and stayed with the gentleman until ambulance arrived. We will keep this gentleman in our thoughts and prayers and wish him a speedy recovery. Please be safe everyone especially in the evening. The paths are dark and curvy...and slow down!

I pray the gentleman recovers. I have mixed thoughts about requiring seatbelts in golf carts. I am beginning to lean toward making them a requirement when sold----knowing that many will still not use them.

Hope the man recovers quickly. I would be in favor of better lights on the golf carts. You cant see jack with the stock lights and most are misadjusted shining into the trees.

Hope this Gentleman recovers soon to enjoy The Villages. I was following a friend and a car took a right turn right in front of him and he narrowly avoided a serious accident. The next day I had seat belts installed. My wife and I wear them every time we travel. It has to help.

Seat belts are a must. According to the POA the majority of serious injuries are due to head trauma.
