Doc's Restorations

The other day I saw an Ad in the Daily Sun about Docs Restorations where they advertised a sold surface bath system for my shower. They advertise it as no grout lines, maintenance free, non porous and is placed over existing surface.

Has anyone used this company and if so what experience did you have with them, good or bad.

John

ps - I did find an old thread on this company but was wondering whether there was any new information.

ANSWER:
I had it done last year.. BIG Mistake - IT IS SLIPPERY - I had to put down those long slip-resistant strips in a ring round the drain out about 8 to10". The half-wall sill doesn't spill off the water. The floor is not angled enough toward the drain to let the water run down it so I STILL have to squeegee the walls, sill, glass and floor AND the glass gets water-spotted and is hard to clean w/o an ammonia spray.

Thanx for the reply. I'm having someone come over on Monday to give me a quote and show samples. I will mention to her what your concerns were. If she can't answer satisfactorily I will pass. This is certainly not a must have item. What I am concerned with is the grout on the floor which has some openings. I have tried to patch it on a couple of occasions but the grout seems to disappear. That's primarily my concern.

I just talked with Tina who gave me a quote on a shower install. I mentioned your complaints and she said that the work is guaranteed and if you're unhappy you should contact them. Also she said that the shower stall that you had installed is not the same as they quoted me as they have a new product but still sell the old one.
