Great new club starting March 15. The Saturday Night Dance Club!

The SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE CLUB will meet the
THIRD SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH
in the Starfish Room of the CAPTIVA RECREATION CENTER from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Dance to a LIVE BAND playing music from the 50’s 60’s, 70’s and more. *Continuous music. Band this week is Vinyl Recall (all members of TOTV).

Doors open at 5:30 PM Bring your own drinks and snacks
Club will supply coffee and dessert.. *
Admission is $5 per person.

Tables will be set for 8 people and SPACE IS LIMITED. *Once capacity is reached, admission will be closed
First come, first served. *Tables will not be reserved.

OK..I'm confused. (Not an unusual situation) Isn't Saturday March 1...That would be the first Saturday. We are having company from the frozen North arriving Saturday. They are ballroom dancers and I'm sure they would like to go...Please clarify. :shrug:

Does anyone know if events like this are usually All Couples?
I Love to dance but hubby is housebound. :(

The Saturday Night Dance Club is for anyone who enjoys dancing while listening to great music from a live band. Singles, couples, even those with two left feet are invited to a fun evening reminiscent of those old " American Bandstand Days."

Due to the space needed for the band and dance floor,
admission is limited to the first 120 people.

The first Sat. dance club was a blast! Thanks to all the organizers and Pam and Doug for letting us know about it. They got me a Hello Kitty balloon as a surprise! I had so much fun....!

I started another thread as I thought DougB, pammyJ, Roy and Jim, (Winston Boogie), deserved a shoutout for their great band, Vinyl Recall!

Let's hope the next is so packed, that people have trouble getting in!!!!

Almost full, for the first time around.

It was great fun, we really enjoyed ourselves. The music was great, the company fun and the dance floor was hopping. So great to see so many people there, I look forward to next monrha event. Special thanks to Vinyl Recall for a great show and everyone who helped put this together.

What is the fee for a club to rent out a room at one of the rec centers? There use to be a fee schedule online and I can't find it now. I know use of rooms are free for residents to have a function, but there is a charge for clubs. I am curious how much it costs. Thanks.

Thank you for the kind words. Everyone did seem to really enjoy themselves and as a band that is the most we can possibly hope for.

If you're an official club, there is no charge. You can also get room for two or three special events for your club each year. There is no charge if the event it limited to Villages Residents and guests with passes.

I think that the charge is $150 per hour if you want to have outsiders, but I'm not positive about the amount.

The next Saturday Night Dance Club will be held on April 19.

If you have half as much fun as I do then I'll have had twice as much fun as you.
