Colony Hair Salon (Dimensions)

Do any of you go to the hair salon at Colony? I'm trying to let my hair grow a little longer and looking for someone good and not too expensive. Anyone use Jerri or Parker?

I like Lisa at Cals in Colony. Cut & 20% tip less than $20! Only do cuts at Cals.

Fantastic SAMs

It is expensive to get your hair cut at Dimensions. Believe it or not, I go to Fantastic Sams. I pay 14.99 for a wash, cut and style. I have short hair. I see Jamie. The only down side is that you cannot make any appointments ahead of time. You have to call that day. Sometimes I have to wait a few days.

I go to Jimanne at Bella's, which is close to Belk's. I used to go to Dimensions but found them far too expensive...and I'm from NYC.

Went to Dimensions....cost me $176. before tip...color, foils, cut..way too expensive!...won't go back.

Who do people recommend? I also have been trying to find someone. I need a good colorist. I have noticed the salons outside of TV are more reasonably priced but I'm afraid to try any of them. I went to one that was inexpensive, but the color just wasn't what I wanted. Suggestions?

Tuscany Day Spa & Salon in Lake Sumter Landing.

"Expensive" is a relative term......to some that very same "expensive" product is a bargain (wherever) compared to where one comes from.

Do people not know what the want is going to cost before going in? I am always intrigued when one say I went here or there and it cost me $$$$$.....I know the price of my haircut before I go wherever I go!

I have been going to Whitney Fifer at Urban Hair on 466 and 301 for at least 4 years and I love what she does for cut and color. Her prices are very reasonable and does not try to push the purchase of new products on you as they did to me at Dimensions in Colony. She's very creative with hair color and my hair looks very natural. You will love her, give her a try. 352-279-7794.

I HATE when they try to get you to buy products.

I found too that the relentless sun here fades color quickly if it goes over gray of any kind..

I gave up and now am white/white.

Me, too, Gracie! It was costing me $100+ every 3 weeks for a trim and touch-up, because my hair grows so fast. Dimensions was the only salon I knew when I first moved here, but that ended quickly. My hair is now back to its natural color, white, and I love it...and it's much healthier, too! Also, everyone in TV uses Redkin products, while in NYC my colorist used Wella, and there was a huge difference in the results, and no one could tell me why. I went to the salon manager, who said the problem was my hair! Huh????

Went to Dimensions today...last time, for sure. Don't get me wrong...great haircut, BUT today the price was $57 for a cut instead of the $45 from 4 weeks ago. I didn't mind paying the $$$ when I lived near Philadelphia. This is Florida where the going rate of pay is substandard anyway. It is interesting that the advertisement for the 'new' salon stated the new 'lower prices'....

Another person here leaving Dimensions (now Salon Jaylee). The price goes up every time I go and I recently learned from a stylist that their pricing "levels" are based more on product sales and new/repeat customer requests than on skills and training.

I always buy salon products, but they push too many expensive lines and items. Their own product line Tenaj is good stuff but the prices are ridiculous. Enough is enough. Everyone I know who's gone there says the same thing.

I had been very happy using Carla at Dimensions until their recent changes. I doubt I will go back. Not only because of their price increases, but also how they avoided telling me how much my services had increased until I checked out - despite asking twice about the changes.

It's way to expensive for my budget

CFrance 04-08-2014 09:13 PM

I like 'downstairs Whitney' at Urban Hair Salon. (KathieI's Whitney is upstairs). I like her a lot. Also, Urban uses Wella hair color, which is about the only thing that will cover my gray successfully.
