Grout Renewal Product?

The grout in our tile floors are in need of professional cleaning. I went to a local flooring store to see if they did this and/or could recommend someone. They said they recommend having the grout "renewed" with a product that is applied on top, adheres to the grout and acts as a sealant. He said we could also change the color of the grout by using this product . Has anyone used this type of product? If so, any info would be much appreciated

I have used Zep Grout Cleaner. You can get it @ Home Depot or Lowes. It takes some effort but it works. You have to be willing to scrub the grout with a toothbrush but it will remove the dirt.

I've had professionals do it and they didn't do as good of a job.

I believe this Grout Paint is the product the local flooring store was talking about. We had our whole house tiled and the grout was way too light colored and it got filthy. We found this product, and at that time it was brand new and it was a one man business, in fact we called him in NY and spoke to him personally! Now he is big business and he really deserves to be. His product is excellent, I think our floor regrouting is at least six or even seven years old and it is still as good as new. My husband did the whole floor himself, it was hard work, but so worth it. If I needed this product I would definitely find someone to do it for me, but if you are a boomer go ahead and do it yourself.

My husband cleans the grout in our tile floors with Comet cleanser and a stiff bristled brush. Time consuming but the grout is white when he is done, and its cheap too.

Before we sold our house to move to TV, I cleaned the grout with Scrubbing Bubbles and the grout cleaning "tool" that is sold at Lowe's/Home Depot (wedge shaped foam block). Due to the scrubbing bubble action, it at least seemed that less effort was needed. Buyers thought the house had been regrouted, so I guess it worked!

Wow, I am going to try that. Because the grout cleaners that contain acid actually remove a layer of grout. I can see the sandy residue in the bottom of the bucket when I use them and a toothbrush.

My husband has had good luck cleaning the grout with the Mr. Clean Eraser.
