chicago weather

Just in case anyone thinks it is going to be hot today (around 80) I just was looking at chicagos weather . That's my old stompin grounds. Well highland Indiana actually. Anyway how does between 5 and 8 inches of blowing and drifting snow with wind gusts up to 40 mph sound. Now that 80 here sounds pretty good to me. How about you?

That's my old neighborhood too. My cousin told me that they've had a total so far of over 110 inches of snow since the start of winter.

I used to think the blizzard of 67 was bad but I think they got hit with several storms this winter that were as bad or worse than the one in 67. Do you remember that 1967 blizzard. I think we got 20 some inches out of it.

I'm from the south side of Chicago when growing up. I vividly remember the storm of '67. It was such a fun time.....as a kid. :)
My kids are back there now when I speak to them they repeatedly tell me I picked out the most perfect winter to be in FL. they are so tired of cold and snow.
I'll be back in 5 weeks it better warm up and snow be gone. :)

80 degrees sounds heavenly. Were in the Detroit area and we are in the path of the snow storm, 6-8 inches. Its hard to believe seeing as it was 53 today. Its our last year for cold, icy, snowy weather and will be in TV next winter. Yeah!

I feel sorry for my friends in NY and CT. They are having the most brutal winter in a long time. Too much snow and temps are lower than normal. :cold:

It was Too nice to be inside today, and went out to enjoy our beautiful temps.

The storm of '67 was something else. They released us from work to get home early. However the snow was so deep that buses couldn't drive all the way south. Walked home in thigh high snow for 5-1/2 miles. I think it took me 2 days to thaw out. Dug out my drive way over a 2 day period and then a snow plow came and covered it up again.

Bear weather!

Flew over Downtown and the Lakefront last Wednesday on the way to O'Hare. Low cloud cover made the city grey contrasting with a totally ice covered lake. Surreal.
