La Palma Mexican Grill
Have gone twice since they opened 4 weeks ago.
Salsa is made fresh every morning boy you can tell, it's delicious. They also have a green salsa which is hotter but the flavor is awesome!! Had the enchilada soup and it was to die for delish. Then had the chicken enchilada soo good. Second visit had Cajun enchiladas with black beans and rice. You can have refried beans, but I just like black beans. The owner is from Louisiana and likes to add a Cajun flavor to some of their dishes. This is a terrific Mexican restaurant in Leesburg. 1690 Citrus Blvd. Leesburg, FL LA PALMA Mexican Grill: "Taste The Freshness" |

We had dinner last evening at La Palma just outside TV in Leesburg. LA PALMA Mexican Grill: "Taste The Freshness". We're not big Mexican food fans so we may not be the best judge of good Mexican food but we all really enjoyed our dinners. On Mondays La Palma has a wandering 6 piece Mariachi band that made the whole dining experience very festive. It was also nice to walk in to a restaurant without the long waiting times that we've come to expect from TV's restaurants during the season. We will definitely go back again. There is no rating yet for La Palma from the Villages Gourmet Club but I would be surprised if they don't ultimately score well. I don't believe Ay Jalisco, the original Mexican restaurant at that location did well. Hope La Palma survives.

Loved the food and prices. The service was a little slow for a Mexican restaurant.

We've been there two times and both times enjoyed our food. Nice, clean comfortable place to go. The restrooms are spotlessly clean. Very nice.

Not a big fan of mexican food, but will definitely visit, LaPalma in Leesburg.
My list of to do's never seems to end, but this is fun to do stuff. |
Our favorite Mexican restaurant for the last couple of years has been Sol de Mexico in down town Eustis. Am always on the hunt for good Mexican food closer to home, so was anxious to try this new restaurant.
The salsa and chips were very good, as was the atmosphere and service. Very friendly and efficient service on our visit. I had a combo dinner with three items. Of the three, I really enjoyed the taco, but I didn't care for the burrito and chimichanga. I'll still make the drive to Eustis when I'm craving Mexican. |
We went tonight as we both are huge Mexican food fans. I really wanted to be impressed. Alas, I was not. It was clean, I'll give them that. However, there were a few issues.
We ordered margaritas and they came straight out of a huge vat of premixed drinks. Then they sat on the bar for over five minutes. Our waiter was no where to be found so my husband finally went up and got the drinks. They were passable, but not as good as freshly made margaritas. The chips and salsa were good. We waited quite a while for our food. It was okay. Neither of us cleaned our plates. While eating I watched the bartender make a Kahlua and Cream using individual creamers. She put the Kahlua and about eleven creamers in a glass and then poured it into another glass to mix the two. I'll give them points for creativity. Not good enough for us to go back. Still searching for "the one." |
Went tonight for the first time and had a great meal and service. The tortilla soup was one of the best I've had. The food was made with fresh ingredients and it was flavorful with a dash of heat but not overly spicy. We will be back!
