Wannabe RN needs input
 

Planning a Lifestyle Preview visit in next few months. Any medical (prof) people on TOTV who can share info with me about f/t nursing positions, availability, pay scale? I would be working f/t as I am 54. I will check this out when I come down but would like to gather all the info I can ahead of time. Opinions, recommendations, suggestions, contact info. would be helpful and greatly appreciated. My specialty is psychiatric nursing and I am certified in that field (which I love) but would consider other positions. Need f/t though. Remember reading the REgional Med. Ctr. is adding additional space and, something about a VA facility being built close by. Don't get freaked out but now, I work in a maximum security woman's prison and love, love, love it. Any federal prisons close by? Will not work at a "labor, farm-type place".

OK, let me re-word this: I am a "wannabe TVer", not a "wannabe nurse". I am already a nurse. I will need to work f/t when I make the move. Can't make the move until I am certain I can find a f/t nursing position. Any advice? Any suggestions? Certainly there is a need for nurses near and around TV. Has anyone experienced a health care facility where the nurses are professional and highly revered? Any health care facilities that you can recommend for me to submit my resume??? Anxiously awaiting any input you can send my way.

The Villages Hospital is right here in TV. Paper said it was voted #1 for hiring 50+ers or something like that. There are doctors offices all around TV. Could find addresses on the internet.

As usual, thanks for response. I know I can get addresses and contact info through internet searches, etc., I guess I'm mostly looking for opinions from y'all who are already living in TV. Thanks again.
