Oak Tree Pruning needed

Always good advice from the friends of Talk of the Villages!
Now I need to find a good person to prune my 10 year old oak. Who would you'll recommend to do an excellent job?
Thanks

I called Airborne 347-3332, Ace 787-9390 and Diamond 245-1206. Looks like Diamond wins.

Whomever you get to prune your tree, make sure they are certified arborists and not just some lawn guy who knows nothing, says he knows, and hacks your tree.

Any reason for your pick?

I, unfortunately, do not have an oak tree (my neighbor had two and chopped them both down which broke my heart), anyway, that aside. Several people in my neighborhood have had their oaks pruned and the oak appears to grow much faster and taller after pruning, sending up long spindly bare shoots with no leaves. Please be careful to have a certified arborist prune your tree so that the pruning is done in the correct manner for an oak.

I use Tree Frog Service http://www.treefrogtreeservice.biz/, I like his work, plus he is a former Navy Seal. Nice young man who works closely with the University in Gainesville.

I would second Tree Frog Tree Service. The owner is conscientious and knowledgeable about trees. He is a certified arborist.

Yes, Airborne never called me back and Ace was too high priced. Believe they are all arborists. May also call Tree Frog just because he's XNavy.

I use Tree Frog Service Tree Frog Tree Service - Home, I like his work, plus he is a former Navy Seal. Nice young man who works closely with the University in Gainesville.

Kanani Morris (Tree Frog Tree Service 352-446-5043) spent two days in my large Live oak tree. He and his assistant were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, professional and hardworking. The process involved cleaning out of what appeared to be decades of Spanish moss accumulation (by hand), selective pruning, spreading and raking-in a yard of topsoil under the tree (for nutrition), climbing with ropes, a bucket truck on my lawn and a truck to pick up and haul away at least a ton of debris. Nothing was damaged. Everything was cleaned up.

I couldn't be happier. Thank you for recommending Kanani.

We used Tree Frog Tree Service to manicure our oak. Kanani

Thanks for the information and recommendation. Our oak tree is in need of some work, so we will give them a call. Have a great day!

We used Diamond twice in the past three years and have been very satisfied each time.
Will use Mr. Torger in the future.:BigApplause:

From what I understand, anyone can become a certified arborist by taking an on line test. I have been told that a state certified operator has to have 3 years work experience or a degree from a state approved college curriculum. It keeps getting more and more complicated,no?
