Heel spur

We are snowbirds and hubby thinks he has a heel spur...does anyone know the best person to see for this. He left his orthotics and shoes at home!!!
Many thanks

It is along drive but worth the ride to the Mayo Clinic, see Dr. Whalen. He specializes in foot problems,(as you already use orthotics )

Tri County Podiatry behind Publix on 441 - Santa Barbara Blvd. Dr. Esarey and Dr. Wu are both great. 259-1919

If it is

Take a bottle of water and pour an inch out.

Freeze the bottle

Several times a day roll your foot on the bottle and the Plantar will loosen out and the pain will go away.

Occasionally I get this and do this as directed by a Podiatrist once and I save office visits and cure myself.

Let me know if it works for you ?

Franny, welcome back to TV! Sorry about your husband's discomfort.

The above method will help alleviate the pain with plantar faciitis. I'm not sure if it helps with heel spurs.

Your husband needs to get some orthodontics and sport shoes! They have gel orthodontics at Walmart, for around $40. There is a machine to "diagnose" your foot problems. A podiatrist told me the store-bought gel pads are just as effective as custom made ones. This may help until you find a good foot doctor.

As a fellow Canuck, I try to have as few medical appointments in Florida as possible, so I can't recommend a foot doctor. (But I can recommend a good Ophthalmologist if you ever need one).

Dr.Johnny Wu. foot specialist. graduate of University of Michigan. Near hospital.

Other than that, perfect. Helped me get thought a torn Achilles tendon.

Go Bucks.

I don't think orthodontics will help unless he put his foot in his mouth.

Great, but be prepared to wait. I hear they are very busy and the waiting room is full.

I have been to All About Feet which is near Bargains and Treasures and they have fit me with special shoes and inserts for plantar but I don't know what a heel spur is, but maybe they could help.

I had 2 lidocane shots and mine went away. I daily do feet/achilles heel stretching exercises and it's not recurred. best wishes

Many thanks. Lady lake 1..Dr Esarey saw him, xrayed, does have a heel spur but the real problem is plantar faciaitis. He gave him a shot of cortisone, OTC orthotics for now, stretches etc and see again in 2 weeks. We were very impressed.
Once again thank you so very much, you too Gracie and everyone who offered help.
I hate being where I don't know who to go to for medical help...

If your husband would wear them, Berkenstocks will really help with plantar, I've had it, very very painful. Also if you have a step, have him stand on the step with toes only, and drop his heels up and down, stretches out the area and really does help.
