God is Not Dead

this is a feel good movie with lots of interesting characters loosely based on some of the 93 cases of lawsuits against universities all over the country on the topic of religious liberty. the case of the professor who wanted his students to write God is Dead on a paper and stomp on it (true!) is dramatized fictionally to make a good story. sat with five other ladies and we all enjoyed it....lots of applause on moments of Christian clarity. also very good scientific arguments worked into the classroom scenes. if you want better than hollywood violence, sex and corruption, support good films like this. showing at the Rialto.

Thanks for the review. I minored in Religious Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno (Classes of 1980, 1981) and majored in Philosophy and History. I sometimes felt that they made fun of me at the very liberal University of Minnesota Law School because of my spirituality.

This might be a good movie for me. I do try to see most of the movies that come out of Hollywood but many of these I see on DVD for the first time.

HI Lou! I would like to see it too. Faith comes by hearing the word. I wonder how much scripture will be in the film? Thanks to the Jews for the Bible and Jesus--

Hey Kitty, I am not so up on God nor any Bible, but I have the most sincere admiration of Jesus, his teachings and everything he stood for. Also, I remember the inspiration for the movie and was so upset with the professor that said the statement about stomping on the name Jesus. The below link is about that professor.

Apart from the spiritual torment, ridicule, and possible discrimination of such an exercise:

It is just plain poor teaching methodology. Students and parents are working their tails off--and going into huge loan debt--to pay $200 per credit for a resident undergraduate in the course, and non-residents are paying $718 per credit, for a boob with an agenda like that to "teach" the course and grade and have power to flunk or expell the students.

Parents and students need to stand up en masse, like consumers and constituents, to speak out against the power given faculty/administration like this, especially at state universities!

Judging by the reviews, it will probably show up in the Wally World $2 bin fairly quickly.
Noah sounds like more fun.

God's Not Dead - Rotten Tomatoes

According to Rotten Tomatoes, only 22% of critics liked the movie, but 86% of the audiences liked it. I find Rotten Tomatoes to be remarkably inaccurate based on critics' evaluations which are rarely in sync with actual viewers. Hotel Budapest is an exception to this, everyone seems positive.

Has there been a TOTV review thread on the movie "Son of God"?
