2011 Yamaha valve adjustment

Any idea how often this should be done and what are the settings? I've heard anywhere from .008 to .012.

.005 set cold if the cart runs well and not tapping it is worth checking every 1500-2000 Miles.

??????? I have nothing in my owners manual about valve adjustment. How can I do it and how are the valves adjusted, shims or ????. There is no mention of this being done on the yearly service. My Yamaha is a 2010.

I have never been told about this adjustment.
Is there something we should be listening for.
I see there are instructions online, but most are being done on much older carts. I have a 2012 with 2500 mls.

Page 8-2 in my manual says every four years or 1000 hrs check tightness of cyl head and adjust valves

This post is not for everyone to start adjusting valves. It is for the folks who have done this type of work before and wanted the info on the settings.
So if you have never adjusted valves before on any motor read up and learn the four strokes
Of a combustion engine and then the setting info we supplied will make sense.
If not you could bend a valve if set wrong:((
