Hi Nonie, Merry Christmas!

It wasn't funky (not sure what that means), but it wasn't normal because I didn't feel like cooking, which is very rare. So I picked up Dad as my date, and we went to a beautiful Italian restaurant in Hermosa Beach, near the ocean, and had our usual customary Italian dinner with Calamari (he had that, I had eggplant parm), and a glass of wine and toasted the few people that were in the restaurant. It was a fun night but not our traditional Christmas Eve dinner.

I couldn't let the year go by without letting Dad have his traditional Christmas eve feast. But all we talked about was our next Christmas Eve in TV when all of you folks can join us in my new house. (91 and still looking forward to next year!!, God Bless Him!)

Love to all, Kathie

We had a traditional Polish Christmas Eve Dinner with relatives ... the unusual part came when the electricity went out! We have a lot of snow and ice here in NH and a tree came down across some wires. It really made the evening very special ... we had a lot of candles, some good wine, great company ... what better way to spend Christmas Eve.

Happy New Year to everyone.

I fixed corned beef and cabbage. A one pot delicious dinner for my son the converted jew, his wife, her mother a holicost survivor, my other son, his girlfriend and my cousin and her husband. What a neat day!!! Later our friends came by so that made four more people. What a lovely time in TV.

We usually stay home and just graze on Christmas Eve. We did things slightly differently. Stopped by a friend's house for a little while, then drove around and saw some of the Christmas lights in TV. If you're here, do be sure and go to Calumet Grove, first right after the pool. The house there has its lights set to music. It really is beautiful. We just sat there for at least 30 minutes, lights off, radio set to 102.9 and enjoyed.

Christmas was changed a bit, too. I usually fix a big breakfast after we open presents. This time, we went to KB's for our first brunch there. Amazingly, it was still $5.99. It was nice not cooking.

I hope everyone has some good memories of this Christmas no matter what you did nor where you went.

Nonie, nothing special on Christmas Eve, but talking on the phone to a lot of good friends. Christmas day was nice, smell of turkey through the house, no turkey, just the smell. (Only kidding) ;D Cats are all worn out from playing with new cat toys all day and night.

Kathi, that was a nice story about your father. I wish I still had mine, he was my best friend. (My mother died when I was younger) My favorite vacation was when my husband and I took my dad back to see his old home town in Conn. Had my two favorite guys with me.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. (Nonie, can't wait to hear your story.)

So, Nonie, what funky thing did you do for Christmas Eve?

Re: An out of the ordinary Christmas Eve?

Yes, Nonie, what did you do that was "funky" or not "norm"???

highjacking post: That crazy Kreg. Just noticed what he wrote earlier. Wouldn't eat veal even it if had sprouts on it. Red/Nonie, we need to teach him.

We had a quiet Christmas Eve, just me and my husband, birds and cat. Nothing out of the ordinary. But Nonie, do tell, what did you do? Curiosity is killing me! And to all who say "no veal" right on. Count me in on the No Veal Club.

Re: An out of the ordinary Christmas Eve?

Awww O.K.

Sat in the neighbors hot tub(which of course is outdoors). drinking rasberry vodka something or others. It was only 28 degrees outside but boy was it nice in their tub couldnt bring myself to get out until midnight, it felt too good!! Yea I know that wasant that out of the ordinary but it was for me on Christmas eve!!!!

I paid for it the next day, had to wrap a gazillion presents on Christmas day, but I'd do it again. ;D

Was hoping someone would really top that, mabe nobodys talking!

Wow!! Nonie, now I know what "funky" means... Cool!!

Can't imagine how cold cold you were when you got out! Well, depends on how much of that vodka you drank, I guess.

brrrrrrr. Kath
