Sean Hannity Remark - April 4

I actually hate to admit that I watched the first few minutes of Hannity tonight at 10 pm. He had the usual group of people in his studio talking of the dangers of Spring Break. The younger people (probably late 20's) said they did not go on Spring Break in Florida when they were in college. One of the young ladies said her parents sent her to visit grandparents in Century City. Hannity said, "Is that like The Villages where all those old people live?" He further went on to laughingly state that The Villages has the highest rate of STD's in the country.

This is a highly paid commentator who has been to The Villages several times and praises it to the skies when he is here. Now, on his nationwide show, Hannity ridicules The Villages.

I am sure some of you heard the remarks tonight. What do you think of Sean Hannity now? I think even less of him than I did before - and that is sinking to the bottom.

Nothing like playing the STD card for a little off color humor.

gerryann 04-04-2014 09:41 PM

He's ignorant and rude! Stupid comments will come back to bite him.

er9027 04-04-2014 09:52 PM

He's fine...he was saying in jest! It's a stigma we have to live with...LIVE WITH IT...
GET TESTED !!! Have a nice day.

He provides little insight or intellect.
I've never cared much for him or his shows.
Now I like him even less.

As buggyone said on 9/22/13 in post #49:

"If you are not able to deflect the STD material into something humorous, just ignore it."

How do you suppose that Fox News can, without fail, find all those morons? That has to take a certain amount of skill. I guess it's best that they are all in one place.

It all comes from his FOX news training?

I don't take stock in any thing any of them say. No more than any of the politicians and their excuses.

Good or bad, Fox is the top rated cable news channel in the nation for several years running. Lots of "Somebodies" think they are good. It's not even a close race, according to the ratings people.

Nothing new here. That is probably one of the very first thing I heard about the Villages. I heard it from people I told I was moving to TV, I heard it from friends living elsewhere in Florida. I believe it is even mentioned in that book that someone wrote about the Villages. I heard it from people who have family that lives in the Village. After moving here, I even had no fewer than 4 or 5 current Villagers mention it to me. Every one who mentioned it joked about it and thought it was funny, if it was even true. I guarantee that Hannity is not the first, and will not be the last to make a joke about a mostly over 50 retirement facility. I hear comics making fun about several "sun city" type communties frequently, and lots of innuendos about what goes on.

I think you are right,he is no more then a comic.

NOT MUCH!!!!

Sean Hannity was not practicing responsible journalism with his remarks. He should get his facts straight, before he makes comments about them. The original article stated, STD was on the rise in TV. What it failed to mention, it was on the rise all over the U.S.

TV doesn't have a STD problem, but it does have a drinking problem. :beer3:

... Nevermind

chachacha 04-05-2014 12:13 AM

i am a big fan of sean's and his joking about a well known rumor will not affect my opinion in the least...and by word of a local doctor, the rumor is far from untrue!
