SkyCaddie SG4 Lost @ OBH CC

HELP! Thursday afternoon, somewhere between the ninth hole and the parking, lot I lost a SkyCaddie SG4 at or near Orange Blossom CC. I will reward the person returning this SkyCaddie to me. It is useless to anyone but me. It is registered in my name and you cannot charge the batteries without a special adapter. You cannot download the courses and when the batteries die it will be a paper weight. You also cannot sell it because it is registered to me. Would appreciate a call if you find it. When you turn it on it has my name and phone number on the first page. :dontknow:
Thanks
Don

ldj: glad you found it, but the alternative to getting old, sucks! So just be happy you found it.

Glad you found it. Don't blame old age -- blame your guest for taking a gander or two at it and then putting in his/her bag without thinking. (Sounds much better to think the guest is old, eh?

I have an image of a little guy that wanders around looking at the sky while holding your club. Works for my mind!

Redwitch,

The SG4 is for the Avid Golfers who want a SkyCaddie with advanced features, a larger display and a long-lasting rechargeable battery. The SG4 includes SkyGolf’s patented IntelliGreen technology, enabling golfers to measure the full depth and shape of the green from any angle of approach and shows distances for all targets and hazards on any of SkyGolf’s many thousands of professionally mapped courses.

Neat, eh?

Well, I think I like my image better but do remember I'm not a golfer. ;)

And there not legal to use in any tournament play. Or if your playing for skins, Nassau, trash, Sandie's, greenies, barkies, or anything else for money and anyone your playing against objects, you can't use it. However the Pinseeker, Medalist model only, is legal. For all tournament play, bets among friends, or anything else. But alas it only gives you distance to objects or pins etc.. Nothing more. Why it's legal to use I guess. But they work great for distance. Oh such a silly game. Why do we punish ourselves with it.

Re: SkyCaddie SG4 Lost @ OBH CC

Actually the recent USGA and R&A rulings make the Skycaddie legal for all tournament play (and of course local bets with your foursome!) as long as it is used for yardage only.

From http://thesandtrap.com/columns/bag_d...e_range_finder :

The USGA and R&A relented last year and agreed to make modern distance finders legal for handicapping and tournament play subject to the enactment of local rules permitting them. Huzzah! But wait… they quickly followed up with an "Oh, by the way…"

The "by the way" was, of course, a "clarification" to the new decision (14-3/0.5) issued March 1 that prohibits the devices from displaying anything but yardages. So range finders or other gadgets that calculate slope, wind speed or direction, or give compass headings remain forbidden for handicapping or tournament play.

And of course all the people we play with will look at the screen on the skycaddie and only get the yardage. :joke: And you must also have a bridge in Brooklyn your trying to sell?

I have no problem with giving the friends I play with a yardage for their shot. If it makes their day on the course more enjoyable then so be it. They still have to hit the ball. Thanks Russ for the clarification. Saved me some typing.

If you don't have a skycaddie get one. It will save you several strokes, and help to lower your handicap.

Um, wouldn't it make more sense to start with clubs and maybe a lesson or two? Don't think I would have to worry about my handicap at this point.

Some people's handicap has nothing to do with golf...However a lot depends on your skill level...In my group we use one to determine who's closest to the pin....
