Addiction to TOTV?

How bad is your addiction to TOTV??

I'll give you my view, after 9 days, 10 hours and 41 minutes:

There is no food in this house - husband has broken into the "big one" earthquake storage of food and water

The bills are piling up (thank Goodness some bills are on auto pmt electronically)

No drinking water in this house (in L.A. you can't drink tap water)

Haven't had fresh air in days

Behind on house cleaning and dishes piling up in sink

Haven't used the washing machine in 9 days, 10 hours, 41 min.

Do ya think I'm in trouble??? Anyone have a support group to help me!!
Please tell me I'm not alone!!

Your TOTV friend, Kathie

Hahahahahaha 1rnfl

We admitted we were powerless over TOTV - that our lives had become unmanageable.

Meeting times will be posted on the web site soon.

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

Kath, you are hilarious. 1rnfl
Now, I will not feel guilty when I spend an hour or 2 or 3 on TOTV. I keep reminding myself that the information shared is very valuable and I can't afford to miss a thing.

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

I am so relieved to hear there are others that share my addictive condition. I was really getting concerned and so is my family! count me in on the support group! ::)

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

Not that I want to "pat" myself on my back, but this is the kind of humor we should be having on TOTV. We are not curing cancer or solving world problems, this is fun folks and lets have it. And.... along the way, exchange information in a kind, friendly manner without all the below the belt punches. Those who don't want to read something, then DON'T read it. If you do, than welcome. Lighten up!

Life's too short and then you die.

Kath

see I can be serious and mad too!!

Hi, my name is Red. I am a TOTV addict. I have been away from this site for 5 hours 37 minutes. I relapsed this evening! Can anyone save me from myself?

You'll be fine, Red. Not all addictions are bad for you!!

Hi Red, perhaps we should start a support group.

Kathie, just made the top 10 of TOTV.

My family thinks I'm crazy and I think I know everyone on TOTV ... my best friends. I know I have a problem!

KathieI 12-30-2007 03:09 PM

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

Yes, I'm afraid we do need a support group. This is frightening :yikes:

Open my eyes at 6:45, make coffee, give dogs their crackers, and in 15 min. on TOTV to see whas happenin'.... yes, I think I need a straight jacket, one that covers my hands so I can't type. Looks like we'll have a large group.

Shall we start electing a group leader? Wanna post nominees??

Morning, Kathie

I'd be willing to bet that our good buddy Oshunluva had a similar addiction and that he's made a New Year's resolution to stay away, and get some work done. I'm considering it but until 1/02, I stick around and help TalkHost reach his December goal. George

KathieI 12-30-2007 04:44 PM

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

Me too, Gary. My new years resolution will be to cut down time on TOTV and get my chores done. But in the meantime, will stay on to break records.

Nonie, no, who should be the facilitator? Me, no, no time, I'm on TOTV too much.

Later, Kath

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

I think we need a name for our group. Any suggestions?

I think we should nominate DickY and Tal for co-presidents. I am making this suggestion based on the number of hours and/or posts they have.

Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary are up for grabs.

Bailiff - I nominate Handie for that position - this is based on the number of times he has used this symbol :cop: and if needs be he could play another role :joke: when fences need to be mended

All members of the support group should have their own computers.

Communication - via a thread or Chat rooms - so that those not in TV can be active participating members.

Dues - since we do not need an official room from TV - I propose we do away with the annual dues.

We can follow Roberts Rules, so as not to have a need for a :cop:

Please remember all of the above is presented IMHO.

Hyacinth Bucket

I'll admit I come to TOTV daily, and multiple times a day, it's my favorite threat even though I don't yet live there! So, I'll join as a member, not yet ready for an office! LOLOL

KathieI 12-30-2007 06:21 PM

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

JohnN, welcome to the club and TOTV as a member!! Many of us don't live in TV yet either, but we're just waiting for the day when all our dreams come true.

See you on Chat.

Ok thats it, I've just got to take some breaks from TOTV. I didn't realize what a problem I had until I shut off my computer to install my new Christmas present ( a wireless router) .... I learned that my wife left me nine days ago and I wasn't aware of it......So I made a new years res. to get out of the house more in 2008...
So here I am sitting in my golf cart in the backyard on my laptop talking to TOTV.....
NOW THAT WORKS , DOESN'T IT ???????

As with others about to retire I will follow William Tecumseh Sherman's lead upon his retirement from the Army in 1884, "If nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve." :duck: I will just feed my addiction with multiple daily viewings and the occasional comment. 024

Great Posts, everybody. :a20:

Fumar, at least I knew my husband left me, geez, you're worse than I am.!!!

Enjoy the outdoors, I have to go food shopping now. Finished the PB & J yesterday so absolutely nothing left to eat today.

Glad to hear I am in good company when it comes to this site. I can't walk by the computer without signing in on TOTV. That's pretty bad.

Isn't funny! There's Pat and JohnZ, but not too many other couples who share this addiction. My wife hasn't been to TOTV even once (to my knowledge) and she's not even curious. For me, it satisfies my need to be in TV.

Another addict here!!! I

would love it if we could get internet access everywhere in TV. That way I could use my laptop or cell phone to log on to TOTV anytime and anywhere.

Hyacinth Bucket 12-30-2007 10:44 PM

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

It is always good to know that one is in excellent company. By all the post made I feel this is validated.

1. DickY, to my knowledge, of course also IMHO, when one is not present and is elected to a post, one accepts graciously. Thank you for the quote. George Washington, said something similar and became our first President. He turned down being King.

2. Great Fumar; What type of router did you get? We have been looking at some at Staples.

3. HELP HELP I will be working nearly the whole month of Jan. and do not know how often I will have access to a computer - I will be out of the country. :dontknow: (Creating a proposal for two groups of travellers. I will be posting a travellogue, but that is not the same.) I NEED ADVICE FROM ALL OF YOU - I DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH WITHDRAWL PAINS.

4. Punkpup, I will have to get a cell phone, so I can follow your lead. Thank you.

5. Kathie, after reading your post, do you want to be Social Secretary?

6. Kathie, if there is no opposition, I will also nominate you for the position of Empress of Most Addicted, but I am afraid you may have competition for this position.

7. Donna, I think can also be nominated for Empress of Most Addicted. I will nominate her also.

Respectfully submitted,

Hyacinth Bucket ( I do hope that this is read and viewed - with the same intent that I am writing it.)

HB you are wonderful! :#1:

Can't help you out about January and how to stay in touch, but I have a lot of Valium I can loan you for the Withdrawal problems you will have. Maybe they will help. :pop:

As far as the position of Social Secretary, whats the pay??? Pension, Bonuses, Pd vacation? I don't ask for much.

Yup, agree, Ms Donna is the empress.

Especially because she has those wonderful emotions and also she practically started the chat room. I'll happily concede to Donna. lovehorse Just don't give her my paying job. Love Kath

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

Addicted? :dontknow: My husband thinks so and I don't come close to some of you but every time I'm near the computer I do log on to see what's happening and what I've missed. I just don't post as often as some of you. When I'm on TOTV my husband then wants to know what's going on and what everyone is saying. It's a great way to stay in touch.

Hyacinth Bucket 12-30-2007 11:58 PM

Re: Addiction to TOTV?

Hi Scottke,

Your statement is very impressive. "When I'm on TOTV my husband then wants to know what's going on and what everyone is saying. It's a great way to stay in touch."

By staying in touch with everybody on TOTV you are also communicating more with your husband.

Any marriage counsellors out there? A remedy on how to increase communication with your spouse.

One thing I don't understand is...why would anyone who lives at or is visiting TV, want to be online talking to people on this board? I would rather be out enjoying TV.

Omigosh! I am an addict! Just like Kreski I read the entire thread on dog poop and I don't even own a dog. Just birds now, and I promise when I move to TV I won't let my birds poop on anyone's lawn.

Cakey, You make a point. Probably because they're a little sadistic and get some pleasure knowing that it's nice and warm in TV, and the rest of us are freezing our buns off.

I know (per Talkhost's reminder) that we're not supposed to use the Forum to make a personal comment to just one person. But this thread seems to be an exception. So I'll say it ... Fumar, you're a riot. :a20:

HB, Kathi..

What makes you two think I am addicted??http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...putertired.gifhttp://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/gaah.gif

Is it because I get on the TOTV before my morning coffee??http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...ffeescreen.gif

Is it because I am logged on all day, so I can just check and not waste time logging in??http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...utersmile1.gif

Is it because I have a compulsive physiological and psychological need for TOTV??http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...ightoputer.gif

Is it because I have the condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with TOTV Chat Room?http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...hatsmileys.gif

Is it because TOTV has altered my mood, energy level, and behavior, especially when this site is down?http://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...lousyputer.gifhttp://www.millan.net/minimations/sm...voussmiley.gif
