Lemon granita dessert
LEMON GRANITA DESSERT Italian Lemon Ice 2 cups water 6 to 7 fresh LEMONS (enough for 1 cup of juice) Make a syrup by mixing sugar and water in pot. Bring mixture to boil over medium flame. Boil for 5 minutes. Turn off flame and allow syrup to reach room temperature. Mix this "sugar syrup" with the one cup of FRESH LEMON JUICE. FREEZE IN GLASS CUPS or pony glasses. *** ***Also known as cordial glass, pony glass is a stemmed glass holding 1 ounce volume for the sipping of liqueurs. The freezing process will take about an hour or more than making ice cubes, because of the sugar content. Serves 3 Can be doubled, etc. Garnish with lemon verbena or mint (if you wish to be fancy).It won’t last that long. Lemon verbena is a sun-loving herb and does well in full sun in temperate regions. |
