windshield cleaning

What is the best way to clean the windshield on my golf cart and the side curtains?

baileysdad 04-23-2014 11:53 AM

Cleaner

Go to the golf cart store on 301 next to Floor Shoppe & Basic for golf ( south of 466) they sell a cleaner for $10 that great on both.

AGC (EZGO Dealer) told me to use Pledge. It's inexpensive compared to the products you buy in the golf cart stores. Works great. I was skeptical because I always thought Pledge has some kind of oil base (it doesn't). Give it a try.

Villages Golf Cars says to clean windshield with any glass cleaner that DOES NOT contain alcohol or ammonia and don't use paper towels. I use a "green" glass cleaner and microfiber cleaning cloths.

We got a cleaner from the Harley Davidson store. It also takes out some of the swirls.

I got some stuff from EZGO - "Foaming Polish and Protectant" for windshields and plastic windows. Part #606314. Works great.

Plexxus is what you need. Good enough that NASA uses it.

Klear-to-Sea is excellent for the vinyl enclosures. I have used this on my boat enclosures since 1995 and they are still in good shape. Now I use it on my carts. Pledge works real good on the windshield.

Plex-x, mad by Meguiars, sold at Walmart. Meant for what you want to use it for and it too will take out scratches and swirl marks.

Fanman 04-24-2014 06:35 PM

Plexus plastic cleaner works great.

Always use microfibre cloth on windshield as anything else leaves scratch marks. We had to renew our windshield after 8yrs.

Paperboy 04-26-2014 12:24 PM

Vinegar & H2O in a spray bottle, mix 6 H2O-1 vinegar. Use a micro fiber cloth, works great!

Important to remember to rinse windshield off with hose, so no grit is on windshield, and you will avoid scratching it, as you rub into it

whatever you use, only apply and remove with horizontal movements.
