TV, Internet costs going up
As reported in the Wall Street Journal this morning, the FCC has allowed companies such as Comcast, Verizon etc. to negotiate directly with companies like Netflix, Google, Disney etc. to offer high speed video transmission at a higher cost to providers and thus a higher cost to consumers.

Does that mean that we can't get Netflix on our own with our own account? If so, that's a bummer and may be worth changing providers. But then will there be any providers who don't offer Netflix? Looks like we are being run over by corporations again.

I am beginning to wonder if this industry should be regulated. There seems no end to increases on our monthly bill.
The various companies offering these services use the old' "bait and switch" approach to get you but in the final analysis your costs end up about the same. The cable industry is about as competitive as the oil industry. In many many areas there are no choices. |
