Is there a Macy's or isn't there?
 

Hi guys,

Well we are now counting the days till we get there. We are at Day 5 and counting. We called to book our transportation from Airport to the Villages and the girl said that Maceys was at the Villages and was open. Is that true? The only info I can get is I see where there is one in Ocala but nothing else. Anyone have any info?

Girl is wrong, sorry. At least I'm assuming you mean Macy's the big department store.

The closest Macy's is in Ocala, and that's as close as they are likely to get.

Not yet, but if there is to be one it will be just outside the Villages, in Lady Lake

It is scheduled to be built just as soon as the Costco and Trader Joe are completed at Colony Plaza. :MOJE_whot:

Rumors and more rumors regarding Macy's and Dillard's. Will they ever build in TV or surrounding area?? Nobody knows----a lot of guessing but no valid information.

However, not yet. From the new areas of TV to Macy's/Dillard's in Ocala it about 45 minutes or so.........

Nope - no Macy's to my wife's disappointment.

My husband said if they ever build a Macy's in The Villages he's selling the house and were moving. Can you believe that? Lol.

Macy's was never a part of my retirement planning.:beer3:

there is no macy's, there is no regional enclosed mall. not now, no plans ever!

Thanks for the quick reply. I had a feeling that was the way it was just too darn good to be true. I will let her know that our dreams so shopping at Maceys in villages have to be put on hold.

Don't believe any rumors you hear-ever. I think the one thing you can depend on is there will NEVER be a good old fashioned multi-level, big anchor store mall in the Villages. And probably not any closer than Orlando. Even the "malls" in Ocala or Leesburg are small and one level. I do hope you love mattress stores, tire stores, Assisted Living Facilities, storage units, Beef O'Brady and small chinese restaurants, and banks. I could go on but want to leave some surprise for you. In spite of this, TV is still a wonderful place---NOT PERFECT---but closer to it than I have found elsewhere. :) :thumbup:

Internet shopping is a wonderful thing.
