Lots More Future Development

There's a pretty good-sized mixed use development planned for the south end of Wildwood, on the left side of 301, just as it curves to the west. The development is called Wildwood Springs and is described on their website as follows...

"Wildwood Springs is a planned 1,046 acre community located in Wildwood, Florida. The master plan includes over 3,000 residential units and a retail center. Located near the highly successful Villages community, the project has direct access to the Florida Turnpike and I-75."

The developer is Reader & Partners. The big question is, who are the "partners"? There are quite a few in the local community who know who the partners are. There looks to be a whole lot of land surrounding Wildwood Springs that could be available to expand the initial project plan.

Stay alert.

Nope, the partners are a lot closer than Disney in Orlando.

where is this going to be located? South of Hwy 44 on 301 or near the Hwy 466 on 301?

Go to the website for Wildwood Springs and it shows the plat for the entire project. It's western border is CR 301, just as it curves to the west on the south end of Wildwood.

And if you follow SR 468 which is the northern boundary of the development it goes across the turnpike and right up to the Morse connection at 44.

I am so glad to hear this from someone who I trust. I am glad to hear that all of the folks who now work building wonderful houses will continue to have work. Sounds like the Morses might have a hand in THAT.:BigApplause:

Gracie: I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

I, too, am glad that many of the sub contractors
can be assured of ongoing work.

However, what do you mean when you say that
Morse might have a hand in that?
As best as I can tell, if Morse isn't in something 100%,
or at least with controlling interest, he isn't in it at all..

Is that a fair assumption?

At best, the plat on the developer's website is hardly readable.

I haven't found one, but is there a better,
more easily read plat somewhere?

And the intersection of CR 468 and Florida's Turnpike is where Morse will build an interchange.

Of course I don't know if the Morse family is a "partner" in Wildwood Springs, but if I had to guess ...

For the general public, probably not yet. In due time, a plat will be reviewed by the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Board. It will become a matter of public record at that time.

It looks like it is south of the Turnpike entrance.

And NO GOLF COURSE!

justjim 04-26-2014 06:42 PM

Interesting. I guess this planned development is not a 55 Adult community. The Developer of The Villages certainly would like to see this type of development close by----it will be good for attracting more commercial and customers for the businesses already here. Let it happen!

If you google Wildwood Springs and scroll down the different posts you will see Morses do not have anything to do with any of the filings for Willdwood Springs. This is from the Sumter County government site. There was an article in the One of the other local stating the land was purchased in prior to economic bust 2005. Developer had been waiting out the recovery. It also stated the developer had been negotiating with Wildwood over water issues.
