DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE WORD THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US?

Through the many years in my career as a program manager in the hi-tech industry, I've come across certain new words that I liked and stuck with me. One fav word of mine, in particular, is ubiquitous. That word seemed to describe exactly my career activities.

Anyone else have a fav word they would care to share? .......barb1191

Webster's definition:
Main Entry: ubiq·ui·tous
Function: adjective
Pronunciation: yü-'bi-kw&-t&s
: existing or being everywhere at the same time : constantly encountered

This song was just ubiquitous in my head. The only way to get rid of it was to post this. :joke:

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Even though the sound of it is something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough you'll always sound precocious
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle aye
Um diddle diddle diddle um diddle aye."

I always thought filtrum was a pretty good word.

As in, "Whoa! Check out her filtrum!"

or

"Holy smokes! Look at his filtrum?"

16, that's so cute. I always give special little names to my pups, loving names for when they sometimes behave but I can't tell you the non-loving names on this post. But thought you'd enjoy,

Nicky - "Snickers" - he never does anything bad so that's became his name
Lil' Lucy is "Lucy Goosie" who is always cute so never get mad at her

and of course, the baby, Sam who is always bad so "Samikins" has become his name by default. Bad meaning kinda puppyish like Sadie Mae I suspect.

Lacie (RIP) - Ms. Lacie when she was bad, which wasn't often
Max (RIP) - when bad, Maximillian >>>>>>yelling with a Bronx accent!!

and,,,, there will be many more to come....

My favorite word is truly cliche, but it is what it is .... LOVE.

It's not just the meaning and feelings behind the word, although that certainly helps, to me the word itself is soothing. It just rolls off the tongue. I think if the meaning of love were totally different (maybe like something you sit on), it would still be my favorite word.

The other word that just rolls off my tongue is maudlin. Now, maudlin (effusively or tearfully sentimental) is something I definitely am not, but the word just sounds good.
