Property management
Does anyone use a property manager other than TV for their rental property?

Re: Property management
We use Phil Kearney Real Estate. I won't give my opinion of them in an open forum but if you are interested in details, you can private message me.

Is there something bad about TV Property Mgmt?

Re: Property management
I don't think there is anything bad about TV property management. We have a friend that uses them and he hasn't complained. They wouldn't take our place because it is "old" (a CY villa built in 1993 I think, but beautiful and in excellent condition) and they just wanted places south of 466.

Re: Property management
TV rental group does an excellent job from what I can see. I'm just looking at what other options are out there. TV rentals are usually short term. I was told they're for the life style preview folks and are for a week only, but I've since learned that they do have monthly rentals which I'm looking into now.

Re: Property management
I didn't realize that you could find rentals on the TV website. What is the web address for it, please? :dontknow:

Re: Property management
We used Hometown Property Management to handle the rental of our ranch home when we first bought in Nov. 2003 and everything was fine but in 2005(?) they informed us that they would only be handling rentals of "newer" homes. At that time ours was only 5 years old. We were given a very short notice of their ending the rental of our home and we were forced to find another property management group or handle the rental of it ourselves. There are several other property management groups available so do your homework and check around before deciding on a particular one.

Re: Property management
There are several web sites you can go to. One of the best (IMHO) is one of the TOTV sponsors http://thevillages4rent.com but there are others as well.

I do my own, it's very easy and I can keep the rental cost down for not paying a commission. Of course I have had rental property for years so the thought of doing it myself didn't scare me. I was thinking of doing some management for others, however I haven't looked into the license requirements that maybe necessary Handie :joke: |
Re: Property management
Some women got shut down and fined for running a rental agency without RE license. They said they were not aware that the license was required.
