Porcelain Gallbladder diagnosis

Just curious if anyone on here has ever been diagnosed with a Porcelain gallbladder with calcified gallstones as well. What was your outcome if so?
Thanks...

i guess it must really be rare and I am the only one here who has it....

Sorry, never heard of it. I hope it's not serious.

I haven't had it, but as I recall, it is not very common. The jury is still out, but there is some evidence of increased risk of gall bladder cancer if you have it.

Overall, best to have it taken care of as soon as possible and talk with the surgeon about what he/she found.

Will keep you in thoughts and prayers.

I looked it up....don't know how common it is, but gall bladder problems are more prevalent in women. did they remove your gall bladder?

I am not sure what it is but I am scheduled to have my gall bladder removed on May 16th at Mayo in Jacksonville. In a routine physical they discovered I had a 1 cm gall stone. Not really bad but surgeon suggested it get removed so I am not traveling and have surgery the old fashioned way, a 6 inch cut and longer recovery.

I wish you the best and get it taken care of when able.

You should think of having a real colonoscopy

Have it taken out! Have a laparoscopy. 4 little holes with bandaids and you will be fine! No pain and if you work, you'll be back to work in a week or less. Never heard of Porcelain gall bladder. Don't worry...its a piece of cake!

Out with it!

Three and a half years ago I had a gall bladder attack while visiting my dad in TV at Thanksgiving . Luckily, I was able to fly home and have surgery the following Wednesday. They went in thru my belly button, no scar and no other little holes. I was back at work the next Monday but I would recommend being off for a week. Good Luck!
