Do you need a landscape company?
 

OK...as a former Garden Club member, I'm wondering if landscape design (the whole package from a large company) is necessary when planning your yard. Can one do it yourself or hire a handyman/lawn guy? I realize it needs to be approved, but I do see some people where we are renting doing their own yard work and planting.

I have done my own planning planting and maintenance always. just contracted out to have lawn care (not mowing) outsourced.......it is so boring! i love to plant, weed, trim...etc.
however, professional landscape companies are necessary for those who have no idea...imagination, or physical desire to get down and dirty. note that i said 'professional'. there are a lot of amateurs, with no business licenses, insurance, etc.
