Anyone see coyotes on Cane Garden Jacaranda course?
I live adjacent to the Jacaranda Golf Course and yesterday heard a golfer approaching the #6 tee yell back to the foursome on the #5 green "there is a large coyote under that tree ". Just curious if anyone has sighted coyotes in that specific area because I walk my dog on the streets of that neighborhood during evening and early morning hours and although I am always watching for wildlife (snakes, foxes, etc) I hadn't heard of coyotes yet.

Stay safe, they are not cocker spaniels after all

Not recently, but we definitely spotted a coyote slinking across the back white picket fence of our lifestyle visit home on Merryweather way; fence bordered the golf cart path. Coyote was inside our back yard.... Much too close for comfort, to say the least. This village was close to Lake Sumter Landing. Of course, when I mentioned it on TOTV, I was made to look a fool. We know what coyotes look like as we have them in Vermont. Not quite so close to homes ...... Other people contacted me to say they also had come in contact with coyotes while walking their pets in T.V. They are there. I think I might carry mace on a keychain, if it is allowed, just in case. It might be a hungry coyote. One never knows. Again, every state has something. We also have red and grey fox that walk up our road. Our daughter finally found out what was eating her chickens.....a fox. Bear and moose have been spotted down in our town and in backyards.........so I guess we could deal with a coyote with glowing eyes. In Colorado, at the Air Force Academy, young families are warned to keep their children indoors when a coyote is spotted down around the residential areas. Just food for thought. They are not cocker spaniels, after all. Thanks for sharing...........and keep your pooch safe. |

Saw one in Amelia some months ago. They are a fact here in The Villages! Several folks we know have seen them.

Saw one on Lopez course sunday

I saw one running down Pennecamp Drive late at night while I was sitting in my lanai. He was a bit skittish and looked confused.

The coyote behind the 5th green on Jacaranda is always there. And...it is made of fabric that moves with a slight breeze. Quite a few courses have these.

I assume every environmental area or golf course has their share of wildlife. Unless they are fed by people, or unless you get between a mother and her babies, coyotes are usually shy. |
Saw a Cougar!

You are referring to what most Floridians know as the Bufo toad. Yes, it is poisonous to our pets but not humans, although you can get a rash from their venom. Thanks for your post, making everyone aware. You hit the right time of the year to do it. |
That one on Jacaranda is fake....to scare the geese away. There are several on Lopez and other courses.
