We bought a house!
 

Hello everyone! After two prior visits and many months on this site gathering information, my husband and I bought a house yesterday in Lake Deaton. We are from the Cleveland area and will be moving here next month. We are looking forward to being full time villagers. I know we will have questions as we prepare for our move. For now, we'd appreciate any suggestions as to furniture stores to purchase what we'll need for the new house. We are bringing no furniture so we will need quite a bit. I know this is the place for advice. Thanks for all the wonderful advice you've given in the past. Can't wait to make many new friends!

We enjoyed Babette's in Leesburg. There is another furniture that sounds like Babette's so be careful. In Leesburg, on the left hand side going to Babette's is a place called Perfect Porch.....we got our Lanai furniture there.

We talked to the owner at PP and be sure to talk to Tim at Babette's.

Welcome! you can have lots of fun shopping for furniture both new and gently used all the way from ocala to leesburg and right here on this site! check out items for sale in the villages when you get here! i bought a beautiful bedroom set on line from jcpenney.com and their service was great! no shortage of places so don't worry!

We bought a house in Orange Blossom in January, and I am moving my wife down (from North Royalton ourselves) next Friday. Good luck with your new home.

Congratulations on your next chapter of life. I have no suggestions for furniture as we are not there yet and our house sits empty. We will not be bringing furniture either so I'll be interested to see the responses you get.

By the way I use to live in Beechwood, just outside of Cleveland and loved it there.

Babettes is our favorite furniture store. We are from Upper Arlington. Where do you live? Congrats on the new house. This is a fabulous place to live.

Congratulations on your new home. In addition to furniture stores there is a huge market of high quality preowned furniture. I thought people were exaggerating until I saw these stores. We bought a home in February and it will be a second home until I want to give up the beautiful summers and autumns in Rochester. I had a great time furnishing our new home and I love what I bought. But what I found was that I felt like I was living in a hotel because I had none of the "stuff" that I loved in my other home. My husband is not happy that we will be driving down 2 vehicles in the fall filled with things that feel like home to me. My suggestion is that you might not want to come down here with nothing. People said to me that your furniture will never work in Florida but every furniture store that I went in looked exactly like our furniture stores in Rochester. Have fun with your new home and your new life in The Villages.
