Home Additions
We want to build an addition on our home. Should we contact an architect and have them find out exactly what is allowed on our home site and have them do a design? Or is there a place where we can go and ask questions ourselves to see what size area we can build?
We want to put an addition on the back of the house to make our master bedroom larger for additional closet space/dressing area/exercise area. We want to also put in a roofed lani area off our Florida room. All of this is in the same area and would be under the same roof area. In addition to knowing what we are allowed to add we will also need design help etc. Does anyone have any advice as to where/how we should start this process? Thanks! Nancy |
First look at your deed restrictions, then go to ARC with your questions (you'll need their approval anyway). A contractor can draw up what you want and build it....don't think you need an architect for any of this. The contractor will get the permits etc.

Please excuse my lack of familiarity with acronymns in The Villages, but what does ARC stand for?
Thanks, Nancy P.S. The people behind us only have a view of the back of our lanai and the side of our house now. But I will certainly discuss it with them - good idea. Thanks |
