Is this a scam? PARCEL PICK-UP NOTICE
:undecided:We received a "notice" in the mail today. It was a yellow postcard that was titled "PARCEL PICK-UP NOTICE".
It looks like a UPS type notice, except it does not say who it is from nor did it have a return address. It addressed us by name and had a Package number on it. It gives an 888 number to call the "Distribution Center" to schedule a pick-up. It says they can hold the package for ONLY 72 HOURS. It sure looks like a scam, or at least some sort of come-on, but I cannot guess what it really is. Has anyone else gotten one of these "notices"? Is so, did you call? What did they say? |

What came up when you Googled the 888 number?

I received the same post card and did call, because I was expecting a package. They told me I qualified for a free tablet for a market survey and gave me an additional number to call. I did nit call the second number, as I believed it to be a scam.

When in doubt, you can usually get a clue by reading the "full Header" of the email.

From now on----do what I do when I get 'UNKNOWN' phone calls, per caller ID...or these post cards... never call the number--they will think they have a live wire then----
Just Google the number--Area code --then number ---oh Boy--I have found out that most of the calls are from the NRA (4 different phone #), ???? cause we are a member and tons of scams. Always Google the phone # and click on (800-notes)..it will take you to a site with 100's of complainer's like US!!!! |
I got one to...trash it!

Got one of these today. It's in the circular file.
