Once a week trash pickup in Lake County
 

Since I live in Sumter County, it was surprising to me to read in an online newspaper that Lake County will be going to 1-1-1 (Once a week trash, once a week recycling and once a week yard debris) this fall. I was also surprised to learn that they will be issued large cans to put the items in. I thought the Villages did not allow trash cans and can Lake County just decide to eliminate 1 of the 2 regular trash pickup days?

I think that is Lake county in general - not the Villages in Lake county.

It is the 'unincorporated' area of Lake County but not sure if any of the historic villages are part of that designated area. The map that is shown seems to indicate that some of them could be.

Spoke to a Clerk @ 352-343-3776 who informed me that my property over by the Webb Way is not impacted since it is in the 'incorporated' area of Lake County; and that there is an 'unincorporated' area in the historic villages that will be impacted.

Further, the post cards that were mailed to residents who will be impacted were designed to insure that they would be forwarded to snowbirds at their primary nests.
