Directional arrows
Would it be possible to add an N or S to the directional arrows so us non directional people would know if we are heading north or south when traveling within TV.
|
That's a great idea! I have gone in the wrong direction a few different times without realizing it!

We don't need directional arrows. The learning curve is usually three months and it's been proven by 100,000 residents.

There are signs listing directions for various roads all around TV. This way to Buena vista, etc

After spending some time totally lost ( no compass in me head)
I broke down and stuck a Portable GPS in all Golf Carts and Cars. Set all GPS to show direction of travel. The 4 Choices to Display in bottom left corner are..... ......MPH..or..Elevation..or..Direction of Travel..or..Damifino. Later discovered a button on the rear view mirrors in the cars.. ..Lo and Behold... it activates the N+S+E+W icon ON the mirrors. ..........Who Knew. HELLO....Earth to ME... ...Later, I Found a Display IN the Dashboards ... ...it shows the same stuff the portable GPS shows, IF you are smart enough to activate the displays. Nobody ever said that I was the brightest fish in the drawer. ALSO... 13 Years ago SOUTH Morse.....would have been North of CR466. I Remember when Pete Wahl said..... .........."NOTHING will be built South of CR 466 - there is no land available." SURPRISE>>SURPRISE... ............80% of The Villages is now SOUTH of CR 466. Where does South Morse begin now?...OR...after it is opened to SR44. Would have been a lot of N and S sign changes in the last few years. |
I was going to add on the survey, the powers to be, need to stagger the street signs, as most of them are at the same eye level, making it impossible to see the side street.
Even more difficult to see at night, as driving at night in TV, is a different animal. After getting 2/3 of the way through 200 questions they ask, before you take the survey, I lost interest. I also realized it would never happen, as it not cost effective. Why would Mr Morse invest in changing the eye level, of every signpost in TV? Same goes for the arrows idea. I agree in three months, you will know the directions from one place to another easier, and won't have to think about it. This will not resolve trying to find streets at night, because of the same eye level signpost, especially side streets. It's a nice to have type item, but doesn't destroy TV experience. Many years ago before DUI was in effect, a friend of mine while drunk, was stopped in Manhattan by LEO. LEO asked, didn't you see the arrows? My friend replied, "i didn't even see the Indians". The LEO laughed and said, "get out of here"! True story. |

Who remembers The Newlywed Game? The wives were asked, "At your house, or apartment, does the sun come up in the north, south, east or west?" THREE out of four got it wrong! My car has a compass built in, and I love it, but as already mentioned, you can buy a little stick on type for a few bucks. |
