zapped in Buttonwood
Just a thermostat and all is new
|
Last Friday i came to my house, also in Buttonwood, to find i had no electricity in 50% of the house.
Lenhart came, did not charge for the visit because i decided to install a full house surge protector, $275.00 According to the guy, it is the best one. He was not sure what caused the problem. I had electrical issues Dic 2013. I love my house, but for a house that is less than 4 yrs old, it sure has electrical problems...... |
Lightning works in strange ways.

This area has more lightning strikes than any other area of the United States. Don't blame your home's electrical work. Anyone reading this should be getting a whole house surge protector and individual surge protectors for each electrical appliance. Also lightning rods aren't a bad idea. |
And yes I did have a whole house surge protector installed along with a very nice new thermostat.
|
My house surge protector (outside ) began to make a high pitched noise. My hubby called SECO and learned it was the protector telling us it had done its job and been "used" . We did not know that once it does it's job it needs to be replaced for the possible next time. No electronics were affected thank goodness. Just thought people should know about the noise and need for replacement. The company came right away and replaced ,(no charge for replacement.) We do pay the $4.00 per month to have it.
FYI We have learned that due to the saturated ground , electrical charges travel farther from the original contact point . |
