Math ..what do the numbers tell us..
Did some work testing the Error repoting produced by a department in our firm. They reported 17 errors my independent results showed 33. They later confirmed yeah Ray your right we had an error in our logic. (keep in mind mine was only 1 piece of an overall review I always get the system generated stuff). I go on vacation check my mail and see the final report says:
"Our testing revealed error data was understated by 16 errors (94%)" I guess they devided the 16 missed by the 17 they reported. I said that the error data was understated by 48% (16/33) I think mine is more accurate and to the point. The report now reads as if the MIS was 100% wrong which to me is incorrect. Any thoughts? |
No question, errors were understated by 48%
