Golf Cart Insurance

Hello Everyone,
We just bought our golf cart and was wondering about insurance.
What does golf cart insurance normally cost a year ?
I had read somewhere, don't remember where, that, you should not put the golf cart insurance on your auto policy. Not sure why ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx to all.

Do a search on golf cart insurance, many threads discussing this topic.

We have a 2008 EZ GO gas cart and pay about $80/yr through Foremost Insurance that we purchased through The Villages Insurance. This is a stand alone policy that is not tied to our auto or home(s) in any way. If something were to happen with the golf cart God forbid, I wouldn't want to tie up other possessions with a golf cart.Check with an agent as I forgot what our coverage is as our policy is in our safe down in TV. Hope this helps.

We also have Foremost Insurance that was written by The Villages Insurance. We pay $96 per year for upgraded limits.

Check with Mike Fisette at Allstate 352-753-4340. He can write you a policy with Foremost. Also will give you a quote over the phone. They are located in front of Walmart on 466 next to McDonalds restaurant.

My cart is a 2014 Yamaha.

I paid $144. for this first year. I inquired why it was high and was told (naturally) since it is brand new the insurance is higher.

As it ages it sill come down.

check the fine print....geico only insures for events "....while golfing." but what about when you are just noodling around this place (after golf) and you mow down 8 old persons?

You don't want to add it to your homeowners..can't put it on you auto unless street legal

This view towards a rider on your home owners policy leaves me curious. Please elaborate the reasoning behind this suggestion.

By the way; I have 2 carts (2002 and 2008) and together they cost $105 a year to insure (I have never had a claim in auto or home insurance in 30+ years, knock on wood)
