Two Musical Birthdays

Yesterday, July 6, is considered by many, to be the birthday of The Beatles. On July 6, 1957 Paul McCartney was introduced to John Lennon by their mutual friend, Ivan Vaughn. Paul had just seen John play with his group, The Quarrymen and was impressed. Paul played a couple of song for John after which John, who was also impressed, asked him to be in his group. That started the whole ball rolling as a few weeks later Paul mentioned that he had a friend named George that he thought might be a good addition to the group.

Also, today, July 7, is the 74th birthday of Ringo Starr. Ringo is the oldest of the four Beatles being three months and two days older than John Lennon.

This one is good, but I use one that allows me to go back and forth between dates a bit easier.

I must join your group when I get to TV in January. I love the Beatles. I was 14 when they came to the US and Ed Sullivan. George was my favorite. I think it will be fun to reminisce and learn more about them from like-minded Beatlemaniacs. Do you meet regularly?
