Modifying/Upgrading Irrigation Systems

I'm very unsatisfied with how my irrigation system works. The grass is real splotchy, even in the best of times. With all the landscaping changes I've done over the last 3 years and adding a putting green, it's just not putting enough water in the right spots. Can anyone recommend someone who would do a good (and inexpensive) job moving and adding some heads and probably upgrading some. I know a lot of you talk highly of some exterior company with two letters in the name -- X and Y Exteriors or something like that -- do they do this kind of work and has anyone used them for it?

Zcaver -- did you ever find a yardman who cut, edged, and weeded? Satisfied with them?

There Are Many, Many Irrigation Contractors Advertising In The Daily Sun

That might be the most populated of the "services" section of the ads. I took a stab at selecting one to do a "tune up" of my system--Bob May at (352) 205-4047. He seemed to do a good job for a reasonable price. Another thought might be to use the sub-contractor who installed your system in the first place. The Villages Warranty Department could provide the name. The "Sunset Warranty" section of the department can also provide names of contractors that they have vetted for quality and price.

Re: Modifying/Upgrading Irrigation Systems

Are you sure it's an irrigation issue and not a fertilizer/bug control issue. I was hesitant to use a lawn care (fertilizer/bug control) but decided to try it and am very pleased with the results, a couple of my neighbors also signed up with my service. Cost is $22 a month. Also need to make sure you are watering properly, I currently water the front and back rotary heads at 30 minutes each zone, once a week.

No I didn't. I am still looking for a weed person. They are not cheap. But that is the part that makes the yard look the best.
