I am reading the first novel featuring Longmire by Craig Johnson and am surprised at the difference in the appearance of some of these characters.

I enjoy the series as well as the books. I am also surprised at the differences.

The biggest deviation between author and screenwriter I can recall is Forrest Gump. There is an implied "suspension of disbelief" burden on a reader or viewer, but that book tested me while the movie entertained me.

The biggest movie vs book character difference I have found recently is Tom Cruise playing Jack Reacher. In the many books, Reacher is 6 foot 5 inches, 240 pounds of all muscle, former Army MP, and a very quite and laid back silent type. Would never have picked Cruise to play him. Maybe Steven Seagal or Vince Vaughan.

I am just saying I am kind of biased about Tom Cruise given how many e-mails I sent him. Edge of Tomorrow is one of the best Sci-Fi movies I have seen in quite a while but it did poorly at the US Box Office. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/edge_of_tomorrow/
