Sites to public records
Visited TV back when Spanish Springs was the only thing there. They were just beginning Lake Sumter. Hubby and I are coming in next week to look and hopefully purchase, FINALLY. This site has been invaluable in my research. I was able to find public records on Sumter but cannot find one for Marion and Lake Cty. I thought I could just replace other names for Sumter but no go. Can you help me with this? Thanks

Re: Sites to public records
On the following sites, you can find out what your property is assessed for and what your taxes are and what you paid for your home. And you can find out the same information for your friends and neighbors. Sumter County Board of Commissioners http://sumtercountyfl.gov/ Sumter County Property Appraiser http://www.qpublic.net/sumter/ Marion County Property Assessor http://www.pa.marion.fl.us/ Lake County Property Appraiser http://www.lakecopropappr.com/ |
Re: Sites to public records
As I'm looking at homes for sale in TV, I've tried to find them on the tax sites, but haven't been able to make a "hit." Don't understand what's wrong. Some of them have been older homes, so they should be there.

Re: Sites to public records
On the Sumter web site the address seems to work better if it's all caps. There is good infomation as to house size, lot size etc.
The information everyone seems to be trying to find is taxes. It doesn't matter and the information will be worthless. The taxes on any purchase will be based on the sale price, not on what the prior owners were paying. They change the assessed value every time a property is sold. So new taxes. Use a % of sale price as the best estimate. 1.5% if you will be a full time Florida resident and 2.5% if you will not. That will be close. |
Re: Sites to public records
I called the Sumter appraisers office concerning lack of sales information --- it hasn't been posted to the web page since April -- They say they hope to get sales posted by September 10, but did not say which year !!!!!!!!!!!
