Just bought - - Need help getting house ready!

We drank to much of the water in TV and just purchased a home!! We plan to rent the house out until we are down full time. We will be getting our furniture from City Furnishings but need some help on misc items...dinnerware, flatware, bathroom items - shower curtains, rugs, etc. Here in OH we have stores like Old Time Pottery and Big Lots. Is anyone familiar with these stores and is there anything similar near TV? Thanks!!!

Target on 441 has much of what is needed. There's also Bed, Bath, Beyond there near Best Buy.

If you've never set up a rental house, you may want to contact one of the management company's and ask them for a list of suggested items to put into your house. It's a guide and will give you an idea what you will need. A guest that goes to cook and doesn't have the item they need or someone wishing to read in bed, but there are no extra light bulbs, can make for an unhappy renter.

If you purchased through a Villages sales person or a Real Estate Agent that works for a company that also manages property, I'm certain they would be happy to help you obtain a list.

It's so much fun getting your house together. Enjoy!

I was just shopping with my daughter at Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Wisconsin. They have a list of what is needed for dorm rooms and apartments. It would give you an idea on the kitchen items. We also stock cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, toilet paper, soap, paper towels, spices. We ask our renters to resupply anything that only has a 1/4 left. Don't forget beach towels and lawn chairs. Before we purchased I scanned everything needed at Target. The total was about $1,500. We ended up buying turnkey but have changed pictures, curtains, and bedding. I wish I still had the list I got from a property manager. I am sure they can help you.

If you have a car at your disposal there is Bealls, Walmart, Kohls, Sam's Club, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Best Buy for the bigger things and then Big Lots, Family Dollar and Dollar General for smaller items. You can do a lot online with coupons and have shipped to you mostly with free shipping. Use retailmenot.com and put in whatever store you're shopping to get further promo codes for discounts at time of checkout. Try Overstock, Amazon, Wayfair websites too. Good luck and hopefully you can get a lot done online and save some running around.

Old Tyme Pottery on the way to Orlando off the turnpike. Google for the address. We also had good luck at IKEA in Orlando.

You need to set up the house as if you will be living there..just go room by room and make a list..

Welcome Ohio! all the above are great places for bargains. We do not have a " Marc's " like Ohio but the Christmas Tree Shop ( not Xmas items) in Altmonte Springs does. It is a bit of a drive but Old Time Pottery is near there as is a Homegoods. PM me for ( free ) visit to thrift and consignment shop in the area when you are in town .

There is also a Home Goods in Winter Garden in the Orlando area. We decorated a condo we had for rent largely from a Home Goods store. It turned out looking better and more "put together" than our own house.
