TOYOTA PRIUS OWNERS

I'm looking into leasing a Prius. Can anyone comment on their comfort and handling on long expressway trips. I travel between The Villages and Michigan.

I'm not much help, but I did test drive a Prius while looking at vehicles recently.
I'm a big guy at 6'4 and it was way too cramped for my taste.

Re: TOYOTA PRIUS OWNERS

Simply put, we're in love with our Prius! Bought the newly tooled one in 2004 and so happy with it that we just traded it in for the identical 2008 model. I had done a lot of homework on hybrid cars prior to buying one but still took a chance with the retooling--and I was not disappointed. I am over 6 feet tall with a terrible back, and this car is so very comfortable that it was not a problem for us to drive here from upstate New York a couple of weeks ago (shared driving, of course).

Just to give you an idea, I had a Honda prior to that, a car we were otherwise very happy with, except it reached the point that I was having trouble sitting down and, even harder, getting up out of the seats in that car. From New York we make regular trips to Boston and different parts of Canada; the long distance is a pleasure comfort-wise and (natch!) especially on gas mileage!

I've been responsible for about a dozen other people buying Priii (plural of Prius?), all of whom are happy with it. I can't offer you a guarantee in blood that you'll feel the same way, but if you'd like more owner information, feel free to send me a PM (private message?) and I'll answer whatever questions I can for you. And even though it's a hatchback, as an added bonus it just amazes us how much room is in that car; rear-seat passengers have much greater head- and leg-room, and when the rear seats are folded down, as they were today, we were able to bring home a fair-sized chest of drawers AND a television AND several smaller bags of stuff. I'm delighted to be a cheerleader for this fine car!
