Recycling starts tonight!!!!!!

I am so excited I almost wet myself. :hot: :2excited: :hot: Recycling in TV starts with the stuff we put out tonight. All of our prayers are answered. Global warming will cease. Temperatures will drop 20 degrees, the Polar Bears and Penguins will be saved, New York will not succumb to tidal waves, and Al Gore will quite selling books.

Oh, I couldn't find any clear trash bags, :dontknow: so I've packed all my recyclables in about 40 sandwich bags. That should work, shouldn't it? ???

Muncle, you should visit the village of Silver Lake some time. They have been recycling for years and not one complaint. Mr. Harold Schwartz's old stomping grounds. LOL! Guess the historic area isn't so historic after all. Back to the future.......

Help - I lost my recycle list of what to put with what. Can anybody help me out? It should be posted on the CDD page, but I could find nothing there.

Muncle, I knew Village Recycling would save all the polar bears; didn't realize that included the penguins as well. Awesome. Grey power rules. ;D

I understand the Recycling Program is experiencing a slow start. Doesn't surprise me as I searched for recycling bags in vain, and was told they aren't available at Walmart or Publix. Guess I'll start using sandwich bags, good idea.

On a non-cynical note:

I've followed the traffic about scarcity of bags, but since I haven't been looking, I couldn't vouch for it. However, yesterday a neighbor told me that she had found the small box (12 or 16 bags) of Glad recycling trash bags at Publix for $ 0.99. Liking the price, she bought a bunch. She said there appeared to be an ample supply.

Who knows??????????????

Call the Recycling Authorities. :cop: I was robbed!!! I paid $2.79 per box of 12 Glad Clear 13 Gallon Recycling Bags at Publix La Plaza Grande Store on Feb 29th. Any chance your neighbor bought sandwich bags?

Hey Publix on 466A has them. Just look for the sign that says recycling bags for the villages by Glad.

Interesting link - It says that you can use any clear garbage bags. Not sure there are any other brands though.

We just bought some clear plastic garbage bags, SweetBay brand, at SweetBay. I think they were in the 20 -30 cents a bag range.
