And so it goes

Sweet film. I don't usually care for romantic comedy, but here is Diane Keaton in her third or fourth one done recently, with her quirky magic, manages to be both irritating and charming at the same time.
How old is Michael Douglas anyway? I thought he was quite younger than Miss Keaton. This film made me appreciate his acting more than any other that I can recall, as he succeeds for the most part at subduing his virility, cloaked as an irascible old guy.

There should be a name for this genre where actors go gently from being in their prime years. Wasn't it Henry Ford and Katharine Hepburn in on Golden pond? Jack Nicholas in Schultz?

Douglas is almost 70. He is older than Keaton.

Review..
Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton are fine in middling middle-age romance 'And So It Goes' | Boston Herald

So the pair are nearly age mates, he is older than I thought, and I still think he's hot.

I think you meant Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn in On Golden Pond.

Pretty good, not great.

"And So It Goes" will not win any Oscars, but it was an enjoyable, if rather predictable movie. If you see the movie watch for cameos by Frankie Valli and Rob Reiner. And the little girl who plays Michael Douglas' granddaughter is a cutie and a pretty good little actress.

And without giving too much of the plot away, there are some interesting parallels between Michael Douglas' character in the movie and what has happened in his real life in the past few years.

On a scale of 1 to 4 stars, I would give it 2.8 stars.

I thought it was just ok, Nothing to write home about.
