Golf Carts

If you choose to take a golf cart (19.9 mph) you are clearly not in a hurry, otherwise you would have taken your car. I am sick of these golf cart idiots, taking corners like a Formula One driver, and being aggressive (which in a golf cart carries all the umpph of lap dog). When I see them at the gates creeping forward, I creep forward twice as slow, taking twice their time, for safety reasons of course ;).
BTW the paved surface golf carts drive on are multi modal, do you really want to pay for separate sidewalks/bike paths throughout the villages? Hit a pedestrian/biker/roller blader, go to jail (and rot, as you should).

This is a retirement community, not New Jersey/New York etc SLOW DOWN no matter what you drive.

Nohing personal, but I hope you get broadsided by one of these golfcarters to whom you're teaching a safety lesson :-* or better yet, get rear ended by the car behind you who cannot figure out what the hell you're trying to do.

There are people out there responsible for enforcing traffic rules and regulations and you ain't them. Take care of your own driving habits and don't worry so much about people creeping forward at gates.

OUCH!!! Think poster was only trying to get those that read this post to slow down and I agree. Especially dangerous on narrow cart paths north of 466 where a head on was witnessed. Kinda takes the joy out of retirement.

Once again please slow down in your cart and in your automobile. Relax and enjoy. :) :)

Re: Golf Carts

Okay, in my defense:

Put yourself in a golf cart at a gate crossing. You see the gate rising and a car approaching. You stop and as the car goes through, you inch forward in order to be ready to cross after the car passes. All is good. Happens at every gate all day.

But no. You didn't know the car was driven by RonaldJo who is going to teach you traffic etiquette. Instead of pulling on through the gate, the car slows and starts creeping forward. Now you're confused. Is this one of those drivers who insist on waving all golf carts ahead of them or is it the dreaded RonaldJo who is teaching you a lesson? What to do? What to do? You remember that TV is America's Friendliest Hometown, so it's probably someone waving you ahead. Buy then you also realize that we've likely got a fairly significant rate of senility here, so it could be someone baiting you to the center of the road to run you down. Or it could be RonaldJo holding traffic classes. Maybe it's best to just turn around and go home.

Re: Golf Carts

RonaldJo is not getting a message across to slow down, he is venting his rage. He is singling out another driver, as an idiot and would like to see rot in jail. He himself admits to playing road games at gate crossings...an example of Road Rage (of course his intentions are for safety reasons?)
Muncle, you explained yourself very well, I'm with you on this pretend Safety Concern hypocrite.

I wouldn't hope anyone ever to "get broadsided" for any reason.

I think folks treat golf carts like go-carts and as a race or attraction, it's fun to drive, and "funner" when faster. Hard to break those commuter habits.

Re: Golf Carts

I take it this argument is about gates where only one vehicle-- either car, truck, or golf cart-- can go through at a time?? Or, do you mean places where the golf cart pathes intersect the roadway?

How many of these single vehicle gates are there in TV? :dontknow:

I'm with Muncle on this one unless RonaldJo can come forward and clarify for us exactly what his issue is, could be just another one post wonder.
