Has anyone had surgery from dr john cowin?

Yes had a large cyst removed from behind my right knee and had a total knee replacement done. He held off on the knee until all other options failed to relieve the pain. Would use him again. Both were done at The Villages Hosp. Which was outstanding and the PT was done on the second floor of his office in TV which was also outstanding.

He did a FX ankle repair on my ankle. Fell and was taken to ER. He was assigned to me. Never met him or knew, anything about him , but was very pleased. Surgery was successful. I had 3 broken bones in ankle.. Many who I talked with had other docs with broken ankle. Some were not as successful as my surgery.

Another recommendation

My dad got a steroid injection from him last week. Said it was the least painful one he's had in his 92 years. Nice man with lovely bedside manner.
Spoke loudly to Dad and asked about his tank experience in WWII. No info on surgical procedures.

he did my shoulder.....surgery was a last option for him.....tried PT..... cortisone...none worked so I opted for surgery....my shoulder is as good as new

Do you have to have the cortisone shots before he will operate? I prefer to have the surgery for a lasting fix.

I would not say that I had to....but I did....i prefered trying the cortisone option instead of surgry right away.....the shot only worked for about 2 weeks so he scheduled surgery
