Knock-down Ceilings and Carpet Installation

Before we move into the TV home that we've purchased, we wish to have the popcorn ceiling replaced with knock-down; and a couple of the bedrooms re-carpeted. Can anyone give us pros/cons of any businesses you've used for either of these?

We moved one year ago, & had Rick Basile (352-274-2396) remove our popcorn ceilings before we moved in. I believe he will only do the removal if the house is empty, i.e. no furniture to move, etc. We were very pleased with his work, & would definitely recommend him. We did have to do some touch up on the wall paint up near the ceilings. He put plastic all over the walls & floor & was able to complete the project in less time than he estimated because of drying conditions. We love our textured ceilings!
