Guest Parking vice "No Parking"

Wouldn't it be more friendly to be positive instead of negative?

Ok "Positively NO Parking"

I presume you are talking about the guest parking in CYV neighborhoods and the recent articles concerning District 7? Even though the articles are referring to the signage as "no parking", I would be surprised if that's all they said. I'm guessing they will be worded more along the lines of "guest parking only, no resident parking". In any case, the rules are already spelled out in the deed restrictions, but some residents choose to ignore it. So perhaps strong language on the signage is needed. It's not The Villages that are being "unfriendly", it's the residents who are being unfriendly by abusing the guest parking.

Some residents feel they are "entitled" and the deed restrictions don't apply to them. I hope the signs do the job.

How would the enforcing agency (yet to be named) determine if a car belongs to an invitee or an owner?

If I parked in a temporary parking area in an adjacent Court Yard Villa village to the one I live in, would I be a guest or an owner?

If I walked home temporarily leaving my car in the neighboring parking lot would I be a guest or an owner or just the guy next door?

It the object is to communicate with the home owner could that be done my sending a notice to each home owner who's identity is EZ to determine?

Which is the unfriendly act?

1, not complying with rules and regs that you were made aware of when moving here, or

2, asking that neighbors obey that rules?

Perhaps the guest could be issued a dashboard parking permit along with their guest ID that would identify the dates of issue and expiration. This could also make sure there weren't more permits than spaces. It would still take someone to complain before anything would be done if there was no permit showing.

to see how effective signs are in TV just make note of the speed limits and how they are abused....ditto for stop signs.....and the no parking signs elsewhere around TV....

signs are only as effective as the enforcement.....sooooooooo......

Question, is the parking area on the Village property and maintained by the Villages or is this parking area part of the public roads that are common in the Villages?

I believe the streets in villa neighborhoods are not public, but belong to the residential CDD.

just issue parking permits to all residents, and those can be place on the windshields. many cities and other comunities have them; what's the big deal?
and while we are at is, i do believe that all golf carts should be registered. that kind of registration can be mandated by the CCD. and start ticketing carts that go over 19 mph. am tired of residents who don;t want to pay attention to the rules.
sorry, i seem to be extra crabby today!

What would be the purpose a parking permit for residents if residents aren't supposed to park there?
