Any recommendations for 6 people (including 2 young grandkids) as to a place to spend a few nights at Clearwater Beach?

I don't know about Clearwater, but can recommend the Tradewinds Hotel on St Pete Beach. Very family friendly.

Don CeSar's Has a very nice beach and a beautiful hotel.
