These new systems are wireless and so easy to install. Almost anyone can install them. The door and window sensors use peal and stick adhesive. Keep the panic button in the bedroom. The system comes with stickers that warn the bad guys before they enter.
An open choke shotgun makes a nice back up option.

I have the SimpliSafe wireless with monitoring for 15.99/mo. It took me 15 minutes to install it.

I use Frontpoint. Easy to install, fully wireless, and great customer service.
